From Villafane Studios:

Incredible idea!

I may be trying my hand at a diorama pumpkin this year…

Artist for these next ones, anyone?

HA!

Oriental Trading Co. has thousands of Halloween items. Here’s a goody bag of random treats I happen to like that I haven’t posted in previous roundups here or here (wow, there was some cool stuff in those old posts now that I look back!).

For the jewelry makers…
Hanging Bat Charms

Body Part Charms

Bat and Mummy Lampwork Beads

Latex Skull Balloons

Stripes!

Stickers (childhood, I miss you!)

Plus Bean Bag Bats (I have NO practical use for these…but they are just so darn cute).

Halfway to Halloween Countdown: Halloween Hot Sauce

Posted in food, halloween, products with tags , , on April 28, 2013 by shewalkssoftly

Everything is better with a bit o’ Halloween involved, and hot sauce is no exception. So I bring you Halloween Hot Sauce.

I am high in the running for World’s Biggest Wuss when it comes to spicy food, so I’m a Spider Venom kinda girl.

Do you like your hot sauce haunted?

Halfway to Halloween Countdown: My Pet Ghost

For super cheesy Halloween fare, I must admit Hallmark’s My Pet Ghost series is pretty neat.

My favorite is Maxwell McSpooky…the MAD SCIENTIST.

The bottle appears empty, until you push a button (not me in this video):

Halfway to Halloween Countdown: Yankee Candle Boney Bunch

Posted in decoration, halloween, home, undead, wedding, wish list with tags , , , , , on April 26, 2013 by shewalkssoftly

We’re almost halfway to Halloween…who wants to celebrate?

HOW could I be such a die hard Halloween fan and have known nothing about the Yankee Candle Boney Bunch characters until finding them in an image search this year?

What an adorable collection of candle holders, figurines and other household decorative items!

And even if you don’t use them on a cake, I happen to think these happy newlyweds (newlydeads?) would make for an excellent wedding proposal (if you can’t invest in a Zombie Fortune Teller for your sweetie with spooky leanings).

Anyone have the Boney Bunch?

I started this post before falling increasingly ill. May still be gone for a bit…I had SO much to share this Halloween…but it’ll just have to wait for now. Here’s what I had so far…

Rockabilly Bride of Frankenstein. Awesome!

I want this shirt:

Sweet…

No one will suspect a thing.

Amazing roundup of Halloween creatures here.

Two great cakes from Cake Wrecks.

And…not so great…

You go, little fella!

Fellow 80′s kids…remember these?

And lastly, the always hilarious AXE COP (featuring Nick Offerman)!

Halloween Countdown: The Black Cat on Vintage Horror Radio

Recently I had a perfect evening for a spooky little introvert before Halloween: decorations in place and gently glowing a warm orange light, wind blowing the stunning spectrum of autumn leaves outside my window, and me nestled on the couch in comfy pajamas with a heated throw blanket, some seasonal treats and a purring sleepy kitty to cuddle.

Oh, and THIS playing…

How much, on a scale of one to PLAY IT NOW! PLAY IT NOW!, do you want to hear Peter Lorre’s sweet kitty talk amidst the sinister goings on of Poe’s classic tale? Amazing stuff.

The episode first aired September 18, 1947.

Halloween Countdown: Matthew Reid

If you click on on this website, the title in the tab up top reads “The boring art of Matthew Reid”…a nice ironic touch since the work is undeniably fun and full of life (and death).

Kind of adorable…kind of quirky…a little bit deadly, with a splash of unpredictable whimsy…

A brand new one just making its debut:

The non-Halloween stuff is great as well. I cannot help but conjure stories in my imagination about these characters, so filled with twists and turns…
