Welcome to the Halloween Countdown! I couldn’t wait to post this window decoration from Victorian Trading Co. But I found the link was gone, and the original Peeping Thomas product had been replaced with a Peeping Thomas “vampire.” I feel it’s a major downgrade.

This has be to be the most legitimately creepy Halloween decoration I’ve seen. It’s not over the top ghoulish, and the face looks almost real from a distance.

What those dead bird holiday cards I posted the other day actually mean.
Most of the pics in this post require no comment…but don’t skip this androgynous, anthropomorphic pothead (see what I did there?). I find its lean, wiry body very disconcerting.
I’ve never done a theme tree because I tend to decorate with the handmade ornaments I’ve made every year since nursery school, but a “sea” tree could probably look spectacular.
There are a ton of excellent jellyfish ornaments out there (something about the delicate tentacles really lends itself to gorgeous craftsmanship).
They range from incredibly intricate handmade creations to less complex mass produced versions, and use a variety of materials (glass, shells, plastic, crochet, beads…) but they’re all rather charming in their own right.

I love when readers/fellow bloggers share their own creations with me! Halloween decorations can all start to look the same after a while. The lovely Jori of Shivers of Delight decided to change it up and craft this “Gentleman Crow” to grace her front porch this year.

Are you doing any unique decorations?
The website photos have large, obtrusive water marks so I could only find a couple from other sources, but Pixers’s “forest after rain” murals are some of the most beautifully atmospheric wall decorations I’ve ever seen.
Although the weather does affect my mood, I’m partial to the foggy, cloudy murals on the site because the hazy glow is much more dreamlike. The crisp light of the sun shows everything in sharp detail, but in the obscured distances beyond the fog…all possibilities exist at all time.

The website seems to be down (at least for me) right now, but I still want to share some Pourtensious tea lighting fixtures because they are gravity defying displays of awesome.
I want to make one of these so I can perpetually feel like I’m in a magical place, somewhere down the rabbit hole.
