Although it’s certainly not the most practical accessory, I must admit I still checked to see if this life sized octopus backpack by Olga Kotova was for sale (it’s not…but I swear I would’ve had restraint!).
I’ve seen cutesy octopus bags before, but I admire her choice to throw caution to the wind and go for realism here.
Would you use this backpack just for the fun of it?
Many times, I’ve looked at classy black wallets and thought “this needs a 3D cat face on it” (by many, I mean never…but now that I know this exists, I will). The effect is rather striking, don’t you think?
I’m not sure if these are available for purchase in the US. If anyone knows an online store that features Japanese goods and carries them, please share!
I also love their little tag/ID cases!
I don’t understand a word of the text, but I just browsed the entire collection of handmade creature bags by Atelier Iwakiri.
Such excellent attention to detail on scales, shells and skins!
These could be wonderful conversation pieces for the shy and/or introverted to carry around (yes, my mind went there because I am terrible at initiating conversation with strangers. But once I begin talking, I’m fine).
Gerri Tullis has a great collection of handmade iron on patches in her Etsy shop. My favorites are the apothecary labels, especially this first one (which I so desperately need).
There are other wonderfully well done designs for the spooky and/or esoterically minded as well.
