I actually saw this in a parking lot today.
I have no personal affiliation with Jesus, aside from thinking that he was probably a really great guy…with some pretty frightening fanatical followers. But this vehicle makes me happy to be alive. Have you seen anything better than a Jesus Pimpmobile today?

A post on Buzzfeed showcases some, shall we say, “interesting” vintage hats featuring our feathered friends.
Now, regardless of my personal opinion on the matter, I know that animal parts have been used in human fashion since our species first figured out how to manage it. But these designs are hardly functional.
In fact, some of them resemble the aftermath of massive bird tragedy. Perhaps a plague, or at the very least some unfortunate bone crushing accidents.
I searched out a few more.
I suppose this sort of thing enjoyed a brief stint of popularity in the middle of the 20th century, even if it made the fashion savvy woman look like a perch.

And the award for most depressing Valentine ever goes to…SUICIDAL SKUNK! He has not one, but TWO ways to off himself, ready and waiting. You can tell by the look on his face that he’s not going to snap out of this so easily. It’s hardcore.
I hadn’t planned to commemorate Groundhog Day (arguably our most ludicrous holiday in the US). But I got carried away with some absurdities I can’t help sharing.
Let’s start with some groundhog art.

I can’t quite explain why I find these photos so entertaining. Maybe it’s the unflattering angles…maybe the logo…
I’ve heard rumors that the neighborhood groundhogs don’t trust this guy:

I was rather surprised by the culinary representations of the groundhog.
Most cakes and cupcakes appear unnerved, unhappy or otherwise deranged.
I would NOT disturb this one…
I’m not sure this technically IS a groundhog, but the photo was titled “groundhog-plus.”
I really hope the person who made this has a terrific story behind it, or feels a special connection with the animal. That’s the only way I can justify its existence.

Over two years ago, I posted about The Fuzzy Wonder Goat. I came across The Fuzzy Wonder again recently on Anachronistic Decay, and this time there was some background information!
Turns out Fuzzy was the work of the DeMoulin Bros. around the turn of the last century.
These goats were used in lodges and fraternal organizations as part of initiation ceremonies.
Aside from the illustrious Fuzzy,, other models were also available.

I know it’s cruel to post a long-discontinued item in the heart of the year’s most hectic shopping period. My apologies to anyone who would immediately add Milky the Marvelous Milking Cow to their shopping or wish list.
Here we have a plastic cow that “drinks” water from a trough (meaning, you put its head down and it acts like a vacuum hose), which then mixes with imitation milk tablets housed in its stomach.
The luscious, giant cow lips and come-hither stare are unnerving. I feel…dirty.
And the final product is not exactly appetizing.
Purely from a collector standpoint, these must be rather valuable.
