I cannot possibly imagine coming up with 101 hamburger jokes. Even if there’s no market for it, I dare say the effort is commendable.
I don’t think that newly wed card really holds much meaning any more. Abstinence? pffffffft.. what’s that?
Colleen, I figured it was a “Yay! No more abstinence!” reference as well…albeit in a bizarrely literal below-the-waist fashion. I wonder what the modern equivalent would be. Maybe there isn’t one.

I have absolutely no idea what that wedding card is about. It seems to suggest that they’ve gotten married for one reason and one reason only…
I find that this blog has allowed me to incorporate the word “meatscape” into my working vocabulary quite nicely (after all, I have a whole tag for “meat”). And there are some cases, like the one above, when a scene can scarcely be described as anything BUT a meatscape.
It says “dental technicians” under the crest, so I’m guessing it’s the crest of a dentists’ guild or something.
The wedding card reminds me of the Addams family with the hand running around on its own… It’s like someone’s legs have eloped without the rest of the body.

It might also be singular (“dental technician”)—but I agree, it looks like something that someone validly thought was a good idea: a family or local crest (the two eagles) combined with a symbol of their job (quite common in Germany, even today). I wonder if they even considered that it looked like the craziest proof that Germans are weird ever or are totally proud of it.
Haha. If I knew any chaste people who were getting married I would totally wish them some happy genitalia.
