I’ve found a new source of home inspiration (well, it’s not exactly new since this has been sitting in my queue for years, but it WAS new inspiration when I first saw it).

Paige Stevenson and Ahnika Meyer have transformed their Brooklyn loft into a veritable museum of lost, discarded, forgotten wonders.

I love living spaces that are thick with history and storied fragments of days gone by. Their place is a gorgeous showcase, largely due how they choose to display these “mundane” items. There is a perfect contrast of still life and lush plant growth.

Jellyfish Aquarium

High on my list of Useless Things I Still Want Even Though They’re Useless is a Jellyfish Aquarium.

Halloween Countdown: DIY Bat Mobile

I didn’t realize I had a few bat posts back to back in my draft folder! We’re so used to seeing “Batmobile” in reference to our favorite winged crime fighter, that we tend to forget about the bat mobiles. Here is a handmade one for the home, of rather epic proportions.

I admire the patience and effort that went into the construction. It was made with sewing frames, acrylic paint, thin sheets of compressed foam, string, fishing line, and electrical tape. Well done!

Halloween Countdown: Roger’s Gardens

Those located near Orange Country might want to check out the unique Halloween display at Roger’s Gardens.

It almost feels as it one is exploring the craft supply shelves of a witch (who has mild OCD and arranges everything neatly), somewhere in an old mansion.

Classy, indeed.

Aligator Condiment Holder Set

I received a text message from one of my dearest friends, showcasing this fantastic Alligator Condiment Set.

Pottery barn is marketing this as a Halloween product…but to me, it’s an all year kind of thing (hell, I’d put this on a wedding registry). There’s a matching alligator skull that hold a bowl!

Does anyone actually own this set?
Nathalie Lete: Meat Rug

Here we have an eye catching rug by Nathalie Lete for the discriminating carnivore (the roses are a nice touch, no?):

She has more unique rugs in her multimedia portfolio, such as this doll head (which I think I’d feel a bit guilty walking on).

Kirk McGuire: Cephalopod Tables

Now THIS is how you hold up a pane of glass for a coffee table! Kirk McGuire has a series of bronze sculpture tables that add a dash of marine adornment to the home.

The octopus is definitely my favorite.

But the giant squid is pretty great, too.

And the leafy sea dragon is a bit more understated, which is nice if you don’t opt for the bold look of cephalopods.

Cardiac Wallpaper

I’ve never considered patterned wallpaper before (my environment tends to be a little “busy” with books and odd trinkets cluttering every free space, so it seemed a touch overstimulating to add designs to the mix). But I’m sold on this Cardiac Wallpaper.

I think this looks lovely. We’ve all heard the expression “If those walls could talk…” The hell with talking; I’d like my walls to rhythmically beat.

Industrial Artifact has me drooling over their home furnishings, particularly the gorgeous vintage style storage.

So many drawers! A piece like this could nicely streamline my craft supply/trinket hoarding…*cough*…I mean…collecting.

While the store lands unequivocally outside my current price range, a girl can dream.
