Jellyfish Aquarium

High on my list of Useless Things I Still Want Even Though They’re Useless is a Jellyfish Aquarium.

Here is the version from The Sharper Image:

Create a calm, tranquil environment in your home or office with our unique Jellyfish Aquarium. This maintenance-free environment features two lifelike artificial jellyfish, illuminated by 18 LEDs that change color with five different effects. Simply fill the tank with water, add the jellyfish, and turn it on.

Another on Amazon:

And yet another (slightly less expensive despite having more jellies):

I fear I would be transfixed by this for absurd amounts of time…but no complaints there.

  1. I’m lucky I have not taken any home in my swims at Coney Island. They have quite a Jellyfish collection at the New York Aquarium. Perhaps a real visit there on occasion will abate the need for one of these.

    • I’d love to go there! And yes, please avoid seeing them up close and personal without a barrier of glass between you!

      • Your wish is my command. An aquarium trip is added to The List. Also, I meant to say “any home in my shorts after my swims.” I’m guessing they don’t like the cold water. But I don’t do anything to put myself in jeopardy.

    • Hi, Anni! So glad you’re commenting! ๐Ÿ˜€ That’s a gorgeous item, but yes, the price is super steep. I do plan on getting one of the tanks in the post sometime in the next year, so I’ll give you my full review.

  2. Those are really quite lovely. I’m a bit partial towards the second aquarium because I like the look of the multicolored jellies, though. I’ve been thinking long and hard about a jellyfish aquarium as well, but I’d really love to have one in a bubble aquarium, they have such a unique look.
