Let’s start with a little faux vintage science, shall we?
I think this cat-erpillar is on my craft to-do list now. You can make it move in many kinds of ways.
Just your average post-Easter bunny mass suicide (nice work decorating the seasonal isle, guys):
You know it’s spring when the Chevys start blooming again.
Grandfather of the Michelin Man
If the Sears portrait studio offered this, I would totally get in front of a camera.
A quizzical little Max Ernst piece:
I’d be reluctant to buy these for the sheer amount of lacing required, but this custom painted pair is quite a work of art.
Perfect for Halloween season (or anytime, really):
Clock for the guest room, to make folks feel welcome:
Does anyone know the origin story of this ice cream truck?
If you haven’t heard, divorce rings are becoming…a thing, proving once again that no human milestone…however brutal…can’t be commodified.
This has come up on a few favorite blogs now…
An amazing collaboration between Salvador Dali and Elsa Schiaparelli, circa 1938:
And Jesus rides in on a unicorn to save the day…
Marie Antoinette’s royal beauty regimen was far less time consuming after her loss…

Thank you! “Desktop Goodies” come from about 400 different sources I regularly peruse. They tend to be things that were posted somewhere online without credit. I do feel bad not citing artists most of the time…but the images still deserve to be out there!

“Jesus rides in on a unicorn” That about sums it up.
Also, that photo of the tree at sunset reminds me of Hexxus from Fern Gully.

Love that lightbulb. I think the old ship in a bottle was getting long in the tooth. Tree in the vacuum of a lightbulb looks good to me!

I had a friend tell me about a “Divorce Expo” she had heard about. Apparently Divorce Parties are a thing also? Yeah, more proof I was born in the wrong time period. Or I exist in the wrong reality…one of the two. -_-
Thanks for the post! I always love these

Oh yes…there are parties, specialty cakes…you name it! When I build my time machine, I’ll pick you up for a journey, Michael!

Ha! I like the “Reanimator Coffee” ad. Do you know its origin? I’m intrigued because I often think of the Reanimator (the film) when I drink coffee to “bring myself back to life” in the morning!

There was no credit at the source, sadly. There’s a Re-Animator musical opening here in LA next week actually. http://www.reanimatorthemusical.com/
