My dear friend Lindsay linked me to a post about the forthcoming opening of a Godzila themed hotel in Japan.
The 30-story hotel sits atop the Shinjuku’s Toho Cinema, and there is an “observation deck” if you want to get up close and personal with Godzilla.
The larger than life Kaiju looms over the building and is visible from the rooms!
The hotel contains a few Godzilla View Rooms, which have windows that looks out directly at the giant head. Would you like Godzilla to watch you sleep?
This adorable little girl, embracing her monster (with a matching flower on its horn!) was the first piece from Omar Rayyan I laid eyes on a long time ago.
I was re-drawn into his work by this cephalopod inspired masterpiece:
He seamlessly integrates old world painting style with fantastically quirky imaginary beasts.

This image caught my eye on Pinterest and I was immediately excited about the concept:
At Child’s Own Studio, Wendy Tsao immortalizes the colorful imagination of children by turning their drawings into plush creations.
She does an incredible job bringing any piece of art to life.
I don’t have children, but if I did I would definitely order one or try my hand at this (I’ve made plush versions of my grown up friends’ doodles)! The price is a bit steep ($250), but Wendy’s accuracy is pretty remarkable and it’s clear that a lot of TLC goes into her work.
Look at THIS guy! I wish I could still conjure creatures like this out of thin air!

I think a series of all of the Haunted Mansion Grim Grinning Ghosts would make an excellent ornament collection.

In 1965, Spanish company Laya produced a line of Munsters squeak toys.
Does anyone know why Bugs Bunny is involved in this? I couldn’t find much info about the company.
Interesting color choices for the toys. Though I remember also being surprised when I first saw a color photo of the Munsters (I’m not sure what I expected…real life grayscale?).
Neato Coolville, an all around amazing blog, has been posting a series of Halloween wallpapers for free download. They are full of retro monster goodness!
As a result of my image hoarding “hard drive curating” I have about 200 things on my desktop at any given time, so I need a fairly simple wallpaper in order to see them all. This one fits the bill perfectly.
