Vintage Thanksgiving Parade Floats

I could have sworn I posted these last year, but it doesn’t look like it. The one (and only) redeeming quality of parades, in my opinion, is the collection of bizarre, surreal and kitschy props.

Here’s a collection of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Floats from the 1920’s and 1930’s.

    This gets my nomination for the best post you’ve done. And not just because there’s a vintage, 1940s Superman in it (okay, mostly because of that).

    that is the most awesomely sad schlubby lookin superman i have ever seen! but my favorite has to be the freakish mickey mouse/velociraptor hybrid! I want to know who’s peyote fueled nightmare spawned that magnificent inflatable chimera!
