Love Week: Sea Squirts
The New York Times recently featured a slideshow of new underwater discoveries. These “Sea Squirts” resemble a little garden of human hearts.
Can’t you picture them beating?
These creatures are Chordates, and are surprisingly close to countless other species:
17,000 kinds of fish; 70 or so species of dolphins, whales, seals, sea lions and otters; some 10 kinds of sea turtles; and about 80 kinds of sea snakes.
The slideshow starts here if you want to see the rest.
