It’s that time again!
I’ll be participating in the Cryptkeeper’s annual blog roundup of countdowns.
About 87% in my poll wanted a month long countdown, 10% wanted two weeks. So to be fair to everyone I will probably do the vast majority of posts with a Halloween theme and a small percentage of others…I think. We’ll see what strikes me.
I’m putting on my party dress (in my imagination) to celebrate.
In real non-imaginary life (with special guest):

And mommy’s little craft “helper:”

If you come across great links or images, please share! Halloween-ites must stick together.

Due to my continuing health problems (which make it hard to type…bad pain in the hands and fingers), this coming week is Wordless Week.
As much as I truly enjoy writing commentary and personal reactions to things I post, the show must go on any way it can. There are hundreds of things to share in my queue! I’ll leave it up to you guys to add comments and be my voice.
1870’s pantomime (from the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection) welcomes you…

Some of you may recall me briefly alluding to my precarious health from time to time. For rather complex medical reasons, I’m allowing my trusted cohort The Headless Hearseman to take over the blog for a theme week involving one of my favorite subjects: Vintage Laboratories.
I’m sure you will love The Headless Hearseman’s posts…we’ve unearthed some spectacular images and he’s got great things to share.
Onto medical ventures…let us see what awaits…
I’ll see you all soon!

Wow. This is a truly incredible wedding display. These folks chose a Dark Circus theme and went all out with it.
I think it’s wonderful that this couple designed such a unique and visually stunning event.
The decorations, the lighting, the food and the clothing are all perfect for the idea.
No one involved in this wedding will ever forget the experience. See more pictures here.

Something about de-contextualizing an everyday object makes it quite interesting. These houses in the sky are the work of Laurent Chehere.

Old Hollywood has a wonderful collection of public service images, projected to instruct proper film etiquette in the 1910’s.
This next one inspires questions in my mind. What…else…could…hmmmm?
