I just want to share two shirts I enjoy from the delightfully geeky Big Brother Little Brother Shirts
I’m always partial to atomic particles.

And even though I’m arguably a little old for this shirt…I’d still rock it.

If you hadn’t guessed, I’m not a huge wearer of bright colors (it happens, but it’s usually somehow layered with dark things)…however, these bat & flower silk scarves by Klaus Haapaniemi are wonderful:
I’ve always loved the idea of half-hidden darkness or unconventionality. An unsuspecting onlooker would have to look closely to see the bats…but I’d know they’re there.
There are also spider patterns for the arachnid-inclined.
These are giving me craft ideas. I bet some fantastic embroidery creations could emerge with the mingling of bats and flowers.
I am a card-carrying Mystery Science Theater 3000 geek (I must be, to have started a club). Here are a few of my favorite MST3K creations on Cafe Press.
I love how they got the font correct:

And there were a number of items dedicated to one of my all time favorite characters: ZAP ROWSDOWER
And for the no-nonsense Rowsdower fans, we have the shirt, the sticker and the magnet.
My apologies to those who are unfamiliar with the show. I promise my next post will have more mass appeal (well, for my regular readers anyway).
I saw one of Joseph Aaron Segal’s cat sweaters ages ago and always wondered where it came from.
This is one attention grabbing sweater. They come in many colors and styles.
And check out the T-shirt:
If you want something a little more subtle you could go with a single kitty cardigan.
Or a tote bag…
A rather unique offering: woodcut witch leggings:

Oh come on. Really. I wasn’t even aware that Starbucks had “limited edition” shirt designs. But now you can spend a whopping $85 to sport a giant coffee stain and know that this generous expense will solely benefit the chain itself (there are only about five Starbucks per block these days, so clearly the company needs a boost).
Even the model looks embarrassed and miserable.
Aesthetic Apparatus calls this the “slightly empowering T-shirt:”
While I find that description hilarious, I’d feel hugely empowered in this shirt. I’m a bit under 5’2″ and I weigh as much as a ten year old boy…I want this to be my TINY DYNAMO uniform. It’s going on the wish list…
I really should just order this right now (the price is quite reasonable), but instead it’s going on my wish list for a later date.
I love this Skeleton Diagram Scarf from Gorey Details.
100% cotton with medieval skeleton print. Classy. Understated. Lovely.
Something fans of Oddities may not know is that Ryan Matthew is also one of the owners of Against Nature, a lower east side atelier that specializes in bespoke suits.
From the website:
Inspiration is culled from a wide range of sources, yielding a distinctly contemporary collection that nonetheless recalls the fine craftsmanship, attention to detail, and sartorial elegance of an earlier epoch.
For those wondering where Ryan gets his amazing suits…now you know.
While most contemporary clothing is mass produced on factory machines, Against Nature offers the opportunity to step back into a bygone age when clothing was custom tailored with choice fabric and impeccably measured to the exact specifications of the customer.
The store offers a wide variety of the finest quality imported material, and each suit is entirely hand crafted with multiple fittings over a one to two month period to ensure perfect construction.
Ryan crafts the perfect accessories (Victorian sensibility with a bit of edge) for suits of this caliber: rings, cufflinks, tie bars, stick pins, money clips, belts, bracelets.
No, they are not all skulls and bones…I just happen to like these…
Commissioning a suit from Against Nature is undoubtedly an experience of luxury- far from the common off-the-rack perusals where nothing seems to fit quite right.

I’d just like to call your attention to Isotope on Etsy.
Here you’ll find t-shirts decked out with science, maps, music and other assorted geek treats.
Even flying squirrels!
