Halloween Countdown: Haunted Overload
I just got engrossed in Haunted Overload for too long. It is an attraction filled with beautifully wicked things to look at, and their use of ambient lighting perfectly compliments the props and scenery.
From the Haunted Overload mission statement:
Haunted Overload is simply one of the most creative and unique haunted attractions in New England. Now located on the DeMeritt Hill Farm on Route 155 in Lee NH. The show has twice been voted one of the top 13 haunted attractions in the country.
Focusing on quality, we are committed to giving the customer the ultimate Halloween experience at an affordable price. Nowhere else can you see huge monsters looming over the crowd, some as tall as 34 feet. The authentic farm location provides the perfect backdrop for the hundreds of lighted pumpkins and movie quality sets.
The haunt is changed and expanded each year to give the patron something new and exciting to experience.
Has anyone visited?

I have been following them for a while, and I want to go *so* badly. They do what I most love: bring art to haunting. I mentioned to the Spousal Unit, that if we were filthy rich, I would spend October traveling from haunt to haunt. This would be first on the list.

I went to a really fun one in Bristol, CT last week: The Haunted Graveyard. It was a blast. This looks just as good or better.
Stumbled on some Long Island ones as well, but doubtful I will make it to any.

There is NO haunt better than this one! I’ve gone every year since I lived five blocks from when the designer Eric had it at his home, and it is truly a work of art. The attention to detail is meticulous, and the creativity masterful. This display is not about trying to “outgross” other haunts: it captures the essence of what frightens us and puts it on display. If you have the opportunity to get to New England in late October, I urge you to experience Haunted Overload.

So nice to hear from someone who has seen it in person! I’d love to visit myself one day.

Thank you for your kind words. I am the stage manager, one of three main builders , and actor for Haunted Overload. We strive to give patrons a sensory overload with fog, lighting, great actors and giant sets. Eric Lowther is the owner of the haunt. His belief is to create a quality experience and people will come. Even after working at the haunt for the past 5 seasons I will still get goose bumps when I see everything in motion it truly is the essence of Halloween. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
