Ha! I love those old fashioned futures! I don’t know how viable this kind of thing ever was, but it’s always interesting to see the technologies that could’ve worked were it not for the fact that no-one actually wanted it. Seems to me that a doctor sitting at his desk a million miles from your bed is that kind of technology.
When my husband goes out to sea, and if they are too far away for coast guard to get to them in a timely fashion, and if there’s a true medical emergency, there is a service they have on board on a radio to guide them through life saving surgeries and other medical care to stabilize until they can be transported off. It’s kind of like that, cos sometimes in the middle of the ocean, even satellite is useless.
The funny thing is, this is happening in a way…just look at your daily television listings. It shows how fascinated people are with medical issues and how afraid of death we are.
I every time spent my half an hour to read this webpage’s articles everyday along with a mug of coffee.
