oh, where to start? At least nobody would have to worry about seeing something they would rather not with Invisible Dick! If only Burt Reynolds would have been Invisible Ass, this post would be perfect. You shall pay for this, milady, in some way. Somewhere, somehow, when you do not expect it.
They are questions every young female must ask! A better (composite) question might be “What are your chances of finding happiness if you put on an act?”
I was going to pick “The Strange Little Girl” as my favorite, but they’re all just so good. I love the half-wit bookpage. I want to own these and display the covers in my house. Interior design by book!
“Don’t eat chocolate.
Eat salad.
In fact, I just realised! You’re an idiot ain’t ya?”
Very odd change in tone.
I like Invisible Dick and Be Bold with Bananas (there’s synergy there) but Burt’s behind… No. Weren’t people mad on censorship back then? Not mad enough, it seems.
Maybe Burt’s Behind (it gets capitalized as an entity of its own) somehow transcended censorship because it was such tastefully sublime art? Or…not even close.
That book page about eating salad instead of chocolate ended up being referenced by Mark E. Smith in a song by The Fall called “Glam Racket.” Go figure…
Anytime! Glad others out there like this stuff! That particular page was “cheating” since it wasn’t a typical book…but it was just too good to pass up.

Uh oh… ๐
On the last book, I love the questions it raises.

I would love to have a large panel or good bit of wall space to display things like this. I think they’d make fantastic decor.
The Srange Little Girl is a piece of sheet music. Tennessee Ernie Ford recorded the song.
Yes, I noticed the “Keys Music” on the bottom when I saved it…but I love it, so I included it here anyway. ๐

Haha! ๐ What funny selections! I’m still giggling as I write this. Your captions are just as great.
So glad you like!

Oh fuck, now I see it. I am so dumb… ๐
No, no…it was a great call! I know that page didn’t really fit with the theme of this post, but I hoped no one would mind.
Interesting collection !!
Thank you for sharing.

OMG Burt Reynolds. Why? Why does he exist? He looks like cheap cologne smells.
That is the most excellent description of Burt.
My favourite was the book page with the turtle and the out of place health advice for a children’s verse book! Thanks for sharing ๐
