Chicken Skin Mask

This post on Regretsy actually made me laugh out loud, particularly because it was entitled “CHICK MAGNET.”

I question the caliber of preservation skills. Even the experts on mummifying chickens had to deal with some nastiness.

Anyway, if the house WON’T smell like rotting carcasses, at least you’ll be mistaken for a serial killer.

Oh, and remember tomorrow is Skull Appreciation Day. Please comment or send me your favorite skulls. I can’t possibly choose between the thousands of skull photos/images I’ve collected so reader submissions are very encouraged!

  1. Ugh. Just another mental image to make me feel ill whenever I walk past a chicken fast food outlet! I emailed you some photos (zombie ballerinas and skulls), hope you got them in time for the 4th June post.

  2. Hi this is the artist Electra of chicken mask fame. The mask is about 8 yrs. old now and doesnt stink, although I always keep it in a jar by the chair, as Eleanor Rigby does, and the jar is filled with borax and sand. Seems to be working.

    • Hi Electra! The mask has held up remarkably well for an 8 year old piece. It’s such a wonderfully bizarre thing.

  3. Hi this is Electra, I have a new unique art piece. Steampunk/assemblage Hard to describe. 7 ft x 7ft on display now in Middletown De. Coming to Elkton in Oct Titled : The Jewel of Guildecart
