In an effort to unite some local film geeks, I’ve started a club and we have our first meeting on Friday!
If you are a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan and can make it to the Long Island area, please join our facebook group, spread the word, come to our events! Friday evenings at 7 will NOT be a standard time because I know it’s inconvenient for many people.
There has been talk of invention exchanges, baking contests and all sorts of cool stuff for future meetings…stay tuned…

Sculpture time! Tony Tasset’s been making news lately for his giant eyeball sculpture in Chicago.
But that’s only one of his fantastic pieces. Some other favorites of mine:
This reminds me of the Seldec Ossuary.

The most defeated Paul Bunyon I’ve ever seen.

Add this place to the list of my dream locations. Imagine enjoying this lovely cottage in Arnissa, Greece on a clear evening…or during a thunderstorm.
I love looking at beautiful (though impractical) sanctuaries. Does anyone know where I might be able to rent something like this for a few days in the US?
-
Does anyone know of a place that custom carves stone? I absolutely MUST get this engraved in a desk paperweight (a rock from my back yard).
I would probably have to go to a place that engraves tombstones. It would be worth it.

Here are a few of my favorite female shirt designs.
Those three are definitely on the wish list.

Another look at what’s passing through the revolving door of oddities that is my computer desktop…
There’s nothing funny about a rusty clown head on a gloomy day…

An arguably less common form of sexual harassment…

By William Bezek…this somehow reminds me of the upshot of being an Extra Woman:

How would YOU depict a “surge of evil menace?”

I forgot to include this in my Ric Stultz post, but I love this mechanical seahorse:

I actually hadn’t planned to make a blog post right now, but I got wrapped up in the sheer fun of Ric Stultz’s work.
Many birds and sweets…

This German ad campaign for a job search agency features creative interpretations of what goes on behind the scenes in some of the devices we take for granted.
Time to think about your own tough, thankless job. Brilliant!
Actually, I know a few people who probably wouldn’t mind this job:

What is it about the old fashioned clicking of typewriter keys that makes me so weak in the knees? Check out this antiquated device as it accompanies a short orchestral performance by Leroy Anderson:
