I highly encourage you to step into the world of BAKEA (Juan Carlos Paz), and delight in all the strange monsters.

I love his use of warm, bright colors…and varying numbers of eyes.

I might actually go to the beach in the summer if I could see things like this.

…Or willingly step outside in a winter coat.

He was unafraid to tackle horror, death, politics, sexuality and just about any uncomfortable subject. But I’m partial to his monster paintings.

Apologies for skipping a couple days this week, but between huge health setbacks and mold remediation in the SWS house, things are a bit hectic.

What happened on this beach to necessitate a sign like this (well, I guess that’s self-explanatory).

What question did someone ask him to warrant this answer? Ideas?

I’m assuming this is a gag product (the source where I found it said it’s unironic, which was perhaps more entertaining than the ad itself).

Aside from Beth Gibbon’s haunting vocals (I still adore my old Portishead albums) over Gonga’s sludgy drone metal, this video is so worth watching for horror fans, as it nods to horror classics of yesteryear.

Three words: So. Much. Boris. A little Karloff makes everything better.

When I first saw Dan Reader’s amazing faux taxidermy trophies, I thought “Wow…this isn’t the paper mache I did in grade school.” Then I clicked on his homepage and saw the tagline “Not your grade school paper mache.”

Indeed.

He specializes in dragons that have, shall we say, personality.

This light up Maleficent received a great deal of attention around the Internet, for good reason.

And have you ever seen a ZOMBIE dragon? You have now.

I love the fact that Reeder never duplicates commissions, no matter how high the demand, because he wants his patrons to have truly unique, special pieces.
