Halloween Countdown: Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake, with Bonus Cake Wrecks

Go ahead, get it out…“Chocolate what-the-WHAT now?”

Mayonnaise. In cake. Believe it.

This cake is perfect for Halloween because it’s a trick AND a treat. Apparently, this recipe has been around for a long time but I just discovered it (asking my aunt, a fabulous cook, to make one the other day).

You will not taste the mayo. I repeat…you will not.

I ate half of the cake in one day, and I REGRET NOTHING! Mine was a gluten free, vegan version found here (because it’s easier on my currently fragile digestion), but there are lots to choose from.

Check out the massive group show Bewitching III at Albuquerque’s Stranger Factory gallery.

Stranger Factory art space is proud to present the 3rd year anniversary of our annual Halloween show. Bewitching III the third of an annual invitational group exhibition of new works in the theme and culture of vintage Halloween. The show will feature over 2 dozen local, national, and internationally recognized visual artists and designers.

Artists are invited to find inspiration in the history of Halloween, including costuming and merchandise from a past long gone to the symbolism and icons of this fantastic hallowed holiday – black cats to witches, to the walking dead and pumpkin kings…
