I’ve contracted a severe flu, so I’ll be using posts from my draft stash for a little while. I’m very sorry if it takes me a little while to comment back or return emails!

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been following my Halloween Countdown, commenting, sharing links, etc. I truly hope that anyone who came across this blog in search of Halloween goodies will stick around after next week. If you’ve enjoyed recent posts, I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy the oddities that show up on here during the rest of the year.
Monstrous thanks!

After my local craft stores discontinued to stock the main color, and I embarked on countless fruitless searches, I’ve finally located the (albeit more expensive) craft felt color I need for The *Original* Turducken Ornament.
This means, orders are BACK ON for this holiday season!
This is just an initial heads-up, but here’s the original post with contact link if you’d like to place an early order.

Just got out to LA, where I’ll be spending some quality family time. Tomorrow I go through my gallery bookmarks and put together an LA art itinerary…I’ll be sure to share it!
I’ve spent a good deal of time out here over the last number of years, but please share your favorite LA oddities with me (art, food, stores, etc.).

Today I’d like to like to honor my dad, who is truly one of the most amazing individuals I’ve ever known. This man has been a stellar role model of compassion, responsibility and integrity, who continues to inspire me on a daily basis. I owe so much of who I am, and anything I may achieve in the future, to his love and guidance.
It’s a rare person (and a rare parent) who can seamlessly blend rationality and emotion, regulation and freedom, wish and possibility. He selflessly provided so much, yet taught me to take nothing for granted. From him, I learned to hope for great things…yet never balk at working hard to get them. I learned that love is not only words, but the genuine desire to make someone’s world a better place, honoring their needs with equal (if not more) importance than one’s own.
Dad, not a day goes by that I don’t appreciate the hell out of you! May I go forward in this world with the values you have taught me and make you proud…

I just enjoyed a rare mini-vacation in NYC and am preparing a NYC megapost of oddities. Should be up tomorrow!

This marks the 1,000th post on this blog. I feel like I should do something special, but basically I want to extend tremendous thanks to everyone who has bothered to read my little collection of oddities. It started as a way for me to keep an online scrapbook of sorts…and I’m so happy this site has managed to reach like-minded individuals (despite my complete inability to engage in promotional efforts).
So thanks for sharing the darker, lighter and just plain unusual corners of my psyche. I’d welcome any feedback or suggestions as to how to make this site better.
