  • Plan 9 Remake

    May 28th, 2008

These days, people can’t seem to let a good thing (or a bad movie) rest in peace.

This ambitious fellow decided to try his hand at a “serious, very scary” remake of Plan 9 from Outer Space. I applaud him ONLY (and I do mean only) for his choice of a release date: 09/09/09

Weren’t we all happy with Plan 9’s place in cinematic infamy?

  • Notinman’s Gallery

    May 28th, 2008

Since our days of eccentric youth, my best friend Ron has been drawing pictures. And now he has a blog so these delightful creations can be archived. I DARE you to resist his unique interpretation of human anatomy, coupled with the characteristic “chest lines” (we still don’t know why they exist). You’ll be surprised at the amount of humor, commentary and SOUL! Pay him a visit:

  • D’Holbachie Yoko

    May 27th, 2008

I’ve been searching for an artist who could capture the essence of my nightmares after downing a half gallon of Breyer’s Cherry Vanilla and falling asleep. EUREKA!

Taste the rainbow of fruit PAIN!

  • Pre-Apocalypse Party

    May 26th, 2008

Bad lighting in the photo…or a celebration of impending nuclear annihilation?

  • Splash Lounge

    May 26th, 2008

I’ve always been a tiny, sprite-like creature. These Splash Lounge chairs make me want to go all out and just feel balls-to-the-wall MINISCULE:

Not so comfortable…but a great photo op.

  • Sticky Organs!

    May 24th, 2008

I haven’t seen my dear friend Stephanie for far too long, and I was ecstatic to receive a package from her today. I’ve spent AGES looking for these elusive little buggers since hearing rumors of their existence.

    STICKY ORGANS!

I’m now the proud owner of a sticky brain and stomach, and they are everything I ever dreamed they could be. I could find almost no manufacturer information, which is a shame…I’d like to order them in bulk.

  • Ray Caesar and Adam Wallacavage

    May 24th, 2008

Coming to the Jonathan Levine Gallery :

    Ray Caesar

Ray Caesar is one of my all time favorites. He works with Maya software to create rich, vibrantly colored, unsettling images with incredible depth. Hybrids of pale skinned children, aliens and anachronistic devices…I could stare for hours.

    And Adam Wallacavge :

His work is sure to meet all of your cephalopod-inspired lighting needs.

  • For the Love of Robots and Anthropomorphic Instruments

    May 23rd, 2008

I came across a few moments of the Animusic series on PBS last night, and was immediately entranced. I scrambled feverishly for the remote and a blank VHS tape…then I remembered youtube.

Recipe for instant smile: a MST3K-esque set, robots (my favorite is the red one on the right, especially when it puts its arms up and just flows with the music), and synth pop that stirs my 80’s nostalgia.

This series seems to be full of creepily anthropomorphic creations playing music…on themselves.
