I could have sworn I posted this amazing picture at some point (I guess I didn’t devote an entire post to it):
Well, a brilliant submitter who saw the design on Threadless turned it into a phenomenal CAKE!

What a brilliant idea by Jeff Canham: seedy birdhouses! Filled with puns and idioms, of course…
Now this is some fantastic rogue quilting! Quiltsryche is the Seattle based “evil quilt studio” of designer Boo Davis.
Quilting had never been so metal.
I love the way she blends classic quilting techniques and materials with renegade patterns and fabrics.
The image above…perhaps designed to be mildly unsettling…is nowhere NEAR as unsettling as this (originally un-ironic) piece of Thrift Horror:
Quite possibly my favorite comic panel of the month:

If I had the proverbial “thinking cap,” I might want it to look a bit like this:

And speaking of thinking…perhaps “brain bats” are a great descriptive metaphor for certain mental states.

In my humble opinion, “vacation hair” may be among the least of his problems.

That photo reminds me of this extremely surreal video:
And now to cater to my love of flying squirrels (can anyone really be unmoved by this degree of sweet awesomeness?)…

Why do I like this shirt design? Is it the combination of apocalyptic themes and sea creatures? Most likely.
I would absolutely add these to my collection of odd toys if someone were to develop them as action figures. Possibly a future craft project for me. Hmmm…plush or sculpture?

I’m a truly touched and inspired by the Million Pillow Case Challenge.
Calling all quilters, sewers and crafters! American Patchwork & Quilting is challenging you to join our efforts to Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Every pillowcase can make a difference in your community. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.
The website has free patterns, photo galleries and all kinds of helpful info.
I’d like to host a gathering of friends who want to spend an evening working on pillow cases with me.
This post is dedicated to my mother, who would have celebrated a birthday today. I owe my love of crafting (and SO much more) to her. I will always cherish my wonderful memories, and continue to draw inspiration from the loving, compassionate, creative presence she provided.
Another thing I’d love to add to my baking supply arsenal: NINJABREAD MEN cookie cutters!
Give me these, some black, white and red icing…I’d quickly pass a whole afternoon.
There are lots of great art shows on the West coast this summer. Congregation Gallery’s Black Plague Art Show looks wonderful.
For some reason I’ve always had a fascination with plagues and factual or artistic depictions of them…

Neatorama has made me aware of a wonderful sea creature; another addition to the long list that fascinate me.
Venus Flytrap Sea Anemone!
This amazing creature (a type of polyp related to coral and jellyfish) closes around its prey with those spiky jaws…
How did I not know about this thing until now?
This is my new favorite song. I’m not certain, but I think I found it on WFMU.
Twinkie insanity has got a hold on me…It’s drivin’ me so crazy, I might kill everyone I see…
Get it!
