Let me preface this by saying NIN was one of my all time favorite bands and I still love [most of] Trent’s creations. I mean no disrespect, posting a parody.
In a fantastic tribute, Frederick Scott nailed the song writing process.
The closest people to me on this planet range from atheist to devoutly religious, to “quantumists” like me (who, without espousing organized religion or personified gods, believe that science and spirituality are one). We can ALL benefit from reminders of love and family, whether biological family, or the family we choose for ourselves.

Christopher Lee has 276 film credits to his name, and at the age of 91 has just released his SECOND heavy metal Christmas treat (how was I remiss in posting the first one when I went nuts over it last year?).
He has a new single “Jingle Hell” out on A HeavyMetal Christmas Too (and the b-side is a cover of Sinatra’s “My Way!”)
This man is just remarkable. A perfect bellowing British voice, so awesome in his many roles. And metal records at 91!
His Christmas message talks about some projects and sends his best wishes.

After an arduous trip back to LA to stay with family, and a bunch of medical appointments to get through this week, gravity decided to have some fun and drop a large bottle on my foot, breaking my big toe [edit: turns out I have a bad bone bruise, but no cracks!].
Off to the hospital for X-rays. How awesome is that for someone in my condition? Don’t be jealous, folks. We can’t all be this lucky.
Here’s a great song about bones, while I’m gone today.
Watched Poltergeist II the other day (great movie, but the first was awesome), and happened to pause for a break on this comical frame:
Oh, hell yes, haunted kitsch sweater!
Amazing pancakes (check out the one on the lower left…wow!):
The inclusion of something that has eyes does NOT an eyeball make:
Oh, you think your pumpkin is scary? THIS is how they did it in early 20th Century Ireland.
Ah, the 80’s…when movies had their own cheese-tastic rap theme songs. Take Monster Squad for example. What’s your favorite 80’s horror movie?
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Max Ablitzer provides a perfect somber autumn soundtrack (you guys may know I’m seriously addicted to collecting music, so this is a tiny sample of a dizzying array).
The melodies are sweet, subtle and perfectly haunting.
(Forgive me, I forget the source where I discovered this)

Unofficial music video for “The Darlings of Lumberland” by They Might Be Giants, from their 16th album “Nanobots” (2013): http://www.tmbg.com (see more below).
It was created using both famous and obscure silent horror films found on Archive.org, and photos from the vintage photo site Retronaut.
What does it say about me that I have pretty much all of these images on my hard drive and have seen all of these films?

I found this image on Pinterest, but have no idea of its origin. I wish I could have given this to my grandmother to put on her wall.
Does anyone know where this comes from?
