Be careful if you like cute things (that lean a little left of center). Oso Polar’s creations are addictive, and you may find yourself clicking through all 80 pages of her handmade creature sculptures on deviantART. Not that I can tell you from experience or anything (*shift eyes*).

Agnes Boullouche paints surreal scenes of humans, animals, flora and other strange visitors co-mingling in decadent royal court costumes, masquerade masks and lavish embellishments.
From the artist bio:
As far as she can remember, Agnès has always been the close friend of a population of fabulous beasts, countless chimeras, gorgons and genies. This painting lady lives in a fantastic realm haunted by humanimal creatures dancing, riding on each other and spinning their horned feet through the antique chessboards of extraordinary stone-paved gardens. She is back from the beyond, and dreams with her eyes wide open. You won’t believe it till you see it. -
I’ve never seen the Starz series Outlander so I can’t attest to its quality…but I CAN fawn over these apothecary still frames which are unbelievably awesome.
This is everything I love about the apothecary aesthetic (is that even a thing? It is to me). I’ve been oddly fixated on painting a room in my house teal lately, and this isn’t helping.
Do watch Outlander? Is it worth seeing?

Yes, this is embroidery!
Meredith Woolnough sews intricate leaves, coral and other forms found in nature on her sewing machine with a special fabric that dissolves in water, leaving only the gorgeously fragile skeleton of the design.
I love the way she mounts them on a crisp white background to show the subtle shadows.

The legendary Jan Svankmajer is crowdfunding what is to be his last feature length film (hopefully not…a girl can dream).
Synopsis:
A local pub in a small town. It’s Monday and the bar is closed, chairs are turned up on the tables. The pub is empty except for six amateur actors sitting in a corner. They’ve met to rehearse “The Insect Play” by the Čapek brothers. On a raised platform across the room we see a stage, set for Act II of the play. As the rehearsal progresses, the characters of the play are born and die with no regard to time. The actors slowly become one with them and some of them experience frightening transformations…The campaign has already reached its stretch goals, which makes me so happy.
