Anton Vill
There’s a lot to look at in the drawings of Anton Vill. Be warned, many are NSFW due to their strange Bacchanalian collages of flesh.
Do no expect anatomically correct. Expect elaborately chaotic melanges of faces and organs, in piles, in pieces…in anything but natural (and at times stirring) physical form.

Neat…mmm, do people say “neat” anymore? I found myself mesmerized by the sheer detail. Yes, that’s a shopping cart on the brain or is it their brain? I love black & white sketching. In this case, like classic horror movies, the utter real gore is tamed by the lack of bloody scarlet juiciness that would normally pop these drawings to gag reflexing glory, which I would like to see also. Very talents artist. For some reason after viewing most of his work, I’m left craving spaghetti and meatballs. Neat.

Are you jibing me? I’m feeling a little sensitive today, and since I use ‘neat” often it feels like a dig about some recent comments I made.

Fritz, I have absolutely nothing against you. I’ll apologize if I upset you for overemphasizing the word ‘neat’, but I can assure you I’m not jibing you nor have I brewed over your recent comments with ill contempt. This is actually not the first time I’ve plugged ‘Does anybody say this word anymore?’. Since we’re both hanging out in the same laboratory, may I suggest potential friendship?

Those slicey heads are making me think my own brain is scrambled. Or perhaps it is something else. Wonderful work–though I would like to see some colour to juxtapose the detail!

Hi Bettie. Can’t agree more. See you around the holidays?

Hi Fritz. Oh, maybe at one of the Brooklyn parties, or out east? Good to see you back.

I still say ‘neat’ π Um, that’s possibly not much of a recommendation though…
I wonder how Vill produces these fantastically intricate pieces. Does he plan them out first – sort of a sketch of a sketch (in a pre-sketchbook sketchbook, perhaps) – or does he just start drawing and see where the wind takes him? Well however he works, the results are truly mind-boggling! -Nx

Neta, your recommendation definitely counts. I find modest people are usually the best and smartest people. π

Neat.
