Doctor Who Theme Song On Cello (Only)

Whovians, this cello version of the Doctor Who theme song is gorgeous (maybe I’m just a sucker for anything redone using the cello).

Anyone watching the new season? What do you think of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor? I must admit, I completely stopped watching the show during the “Amy Pond” era because for some reason I found her intolerable, to the point that I couldn’t even give Matt Smith a fair shot in his role. I still miss the days of David Tennant and Billie Piper. But I’m getting back into it now.

Beautiful! Always liked this theme. I have needed someone to help get me into Dr. Who. It has always been a scattered episode here and there, and sadly when I first was introduced, PBS used to play them out of sequence, and I gave up.

Would it be safe to presume that you like Rasputina? I saw them open for The Cranes, and the cellos just lifted me above the audience.

  2. Craig Ferguson and the Lost Doctor Who cold open, on the Late Late Show w/ guest star Matt Smith. This is hilarious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMZa8RMty9M

  3. Love Capaldi–he has that alien quality of some of the early Doctors. But the writing has been a little weak.

Do not like the new version of the Dr. Who theme music. Cellos are better!
