Doctor Who Theme Song On Cello (Only)

Whovians, this cello version of the Doctor Who theme song is gorgeous (maybe I’m just a sucker for anything redone using the cello).

Anyone watching the new season? What do you think of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor? I must admit, I completely stopped watching the show during the “Amy Pond” era because for some reason I found her intolerable, to the point that I couldn’t even give Matt Smith a fair shot in his role. I still miss the days of David Tennant and Billie Piper. But I’m getting back into it now.

  1. Beautiful! Always liked this theme. I have needed someone to help get me into Dr. Who. It has always been a scattered episode here and there, and sadly when I first was introduced, PBS used to play them out of sequence, and I gave up.

Would it be safe to presume that you like Rasputina? I saw them open for The Cranes, and the cellos just lifted me above the audience.

  2. Love Capaldi–he has that alien quality of some of the early Doctors. But the writing has been a little weak.

Do not like the new version of the Dr. Who theme music. Cellos are better!
