I’m thrilled that little curio cabinets of merchandise have been springing up all over the country in the past decade. Shows like Oddities have helped spur an increasing widespread interest in the strange and unusual (my longstanding loves!).
Woolly Mammoth Antiques and Oddities looks like a great place to browse.
Have any of you Chicago natives/travelers been there?

I want the Jackalope mounted on the wall…. and some dentures, and the Rescusi Baby, and if they could throw in some printing blocks, that would be awesome. I wish I lived closer, I’d visit that store every week for inspiration!
The antique curios are truly amazing. Love ’em! Just slightly concerned about where all those articulated baboon and cat skulls are coming from though… -Nx
I’m kind of obsessed with that show Oddities.
Oops, almost forgot. Oh man! I watched Oddities all the time. These kind of shoppes fascinate the heck out of me. There was used to be a show with a daredevil / magician guy that collected historically significant death and torture stuff. I miss that show. One eye open now.
Road trippppppp. ooh la la
We oddity enthusiasts are in luck, now that the subject is getting media attention. More small businesses are encouraged to make a go of it with their unique inventories!
