Ooh yes, I’ve always loved the combination of black, white and red (Even moreso since reading Morgenstern’s ‘Night Circus’). Such a luscious, wicked, drama of colour! -Nx
I really like these and Larkin’s website is stunning. Without a doubt the sepia-tone tea-girl is you, Dana, or at least that’s what I see. The red & black does work (had a b&r muscle car once), although I wonder if she simply decided not to finish it. My second favorite is also Alice, a colorful sensory mind trip; it just needs an Victorian frame with harlequin matting to show it off. Come to think of it, it would be a terrific picture for a kitchen, seeing as she’s a mutant cupcake and confectionary pinks.
Thankyou so much for the lovely comment KEric, particularly about the website. I worked hard on that. The drawing you refer to is a prelim sketch for a large painting and at that stage it was only half finished. Stay tuned to the website for the entire series due to be completed around October. xx
