To me, we are officially into “Halloween season” so I figured we’d get warmed up with a spooky little animated treat that would have been appropriate for Vintage Lab Week.
In 1933, Disney released this short animation: Mickey Mouse- The Mad Doctor
There are so many excellent still frames to grab. I have a feeling I’m going to go back and pause every few seconds for a screen capture.

Another great Disney short. I adore the early cartoons.
This one is great, but I think The Skeleton Dance is my all time favorite!
It warms my heart to see how far a mouse will go in order to ensure the welfare of his beloved pet dog.

I’m not a fan of the corporate Micky, but these early cartoons are real gems! The cloaked figure that absconds with Pluto reminds me of “The Terror” from a lost silent film.
I like some of the early “spooky” short animations, but also draw the line at modern corporate Mickey.
