The Wonderful Journey of a Christmas Tree
As long as we’re on the subject of books today, Monster Brains has posted some very unique illustrations from the Belgian Christmas book The Wonderful Journey Of A Christmas Tree dated 1943 by author Joseph C. Boon.
I’m so curious about the rest of this book…has anyone seen it?

Aw! Another book I must search for in my weekly visits to the flea markets! Saturdays can’t come soon enough!

If you ever find it, please let me know! I couldn’t get much info on this book and I’d love to see the rest of the illustrations.

All I know of Mad Men is what I read vicariously in meinzgaas. But it reminds me of the movie Far From Heaven. There’s both a melancholy and a vibrancy of the time period the belies the cultural and social turmoil. I think that’s why we’re all so fascinated, at least, that’s why I am.

I’ve never seen it, but it looks beautiful!
