Covers of The New Yorker can sometimes be quite clever, but my favorite in recent history is Chris Ware’s Halloween cover. I was chuckling sarcastically as soon as I pulled this out of my mailbox.

Poignant little commentary, no?

It’s hard to see the bottom, I’d love to know what they’re saying. So many people have iphones now, that I don’t enjoy being around them because all they do is stare at it. I went out with someone last Friday who just got a iphone, and I kept having to pause our conversation while they did whatever update they needed to do. Maybe I should just call them next time instead of meet in person. Maybe then they’ll actually be able to have a conversation.
I loved this too…made me laugh and say “ah, yuppies.” Until I found myself iphoning left and right on Halloween…
