I’ve got to see Nouar’s new exhibit at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery.

I can’t get enough of her anthropomorphic treats, with their wide gleaming eyes and sultry stares…vibrant conglomerates of consumerism, temptation and gluttony.

Some evoke post WWII era food ephemera (a time period with some wonderfully “kitsch-alicious” styles).

And just take a look at these tater tots! They look all hopped up on sugar and ready for Ritalin. This woman is so gifted…

See pieces from You Look Good Enough to Eat here.

these are unsettling, in a good way. i like the donut one best.
Beautiful! I like them so much, particularly the ‘lemon parade’ and the ‘tuber mom’…You’ve got a special skill to find this kind of images, great work!
we may have missed the opening reception… but i swear i’ll bring you to see this exhibit before the closing date of march 21. This is really too good to miss!
I know this is an old post, but I’ve looked at it several times now, and each time that hot dog makes me sad. A little more sad each time.
