I know it’s early in the game, but I plan to do a massive makeover of SheWalksSoftly next month, adding lots of new features and fun stuff to browse in archived categories (in addition to regular posts).
With new blogs concentrating on ever-narrowing niches, I know that posting such a broad scope of oddities may not be the best idea. But I’m far too passionate to pick a narrow niche. So I’m breaking the rules…and need your help in determining exactly how to break them properly.
Even if you usually don’t comment, please give some feedback:
1) What are your favorite types of posts?
2) In all honesty, are you put off by the variety in subject matter, or would you be happy to see it expand even further? Should I try to narrow it?
Am I the only one who enjoys everything from crazy technology to broken dolls?
Tell me anything and everything…I’m listening!

Hello there! You don’t know me, but you are friends with a fried of mine- Lulu. She has mentioned you before to me, and sent me a link to to check out your site earlier this summer. Which i did, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I will admit i kind of forgot to bookmark it, and have not gone through all your posts yet, but every one is amazing. You are def not the only weirdo out there who love technology to broken dolls and everything in between- So do I! I say keep it up just how you have been. my favorite sites are the ones where a person just posts on all the myriad shit they are into, whatever that may be. If i wasn’t such an underacheving loser who lives entirely too much in her head I would be doing a blog that might be as good as yours. That topic was actually what is prompting me to write to you. I just got off the phone W/ Lulu, and we were discussing the impending dread of fall and winter, and depression… and she brought up how we need to keep busy with projects. I had talked about starting a blog, just for myself as project- i even registered a name- “hodgepodgecollage” but never did anything with it. so she reminded me of that, and then mentioned you and your blog again, and I said “oh yeah, i loved it!” so here i am , letting another soul out there in this world know that what you are doing is awesome, inspiring and just really cool. I read a fuck of a lot of websites, and see a lot of shit that is good, but obviously pilfered from and reposted from boing boing, metafilter, and sites like that- which is ok– but yours is coo,l weird ORIGINAL shit that you seem to have found all by your lonesome. which is kind of how i would do it too.
Sorry for the crazy rant– just wanted to give a shout out. I am so happy when i see a site like this. And you seem like a very cool person with super neat eclectic taste. Here’s a few links you may not know about that i really like– you probably will too, if you don’t know them already
ok- i posted a shit load here- kind of a mix of art, weird stuff, design photography, music, architecture – nothing really specific. But i figure if you don’t know some of these, they will be right up your alley. there is nothing too obscure here, just some good, kind of comprehensive sites i like. so, yeah thanks for the inspiration, and i will be checking out ALL of your site in the near future!!
PS I am the friend who told Lulu not to miss the Murakami Show that you posted on.

Hi there! you don’t know me, but i am friends with Lulu- she sent me a link to your site earlier this summer. I have to admit i have not checked out everything here yet but i LOVE LOVE LOVE it EXACTLY the way you are puttin’ it down here, sista! I wrote you a long ass comment here earlier tonight, but it seems to have vanished- did not post. i will elaborate tomorrow, as i am too tired now to redo all i had written– but just wanted to say the eclectic, wonderful, weird and kick ass stuff you are doing here is perfect the way it is. you are not the only one out there you loves crazy tech, broken dolls and everything in between!!! don’t niche out- let it be a beautiful roadmap of your brain.
Don’t you dare change a thing! You pave your own path and others will follow. Christine is 100% right… “don’t niche out”!!! You’ve even said it yourself – you’ve always been left of center even at a young age. Keep up the good work sweetie ๐

I think you’re doing just fine. I’ve only just found you today, but I like what I see.
