I wish all of you (who celebrate Christmas) a wonderful holiday today. And I wish everyone else a wonderful day…just for the hell of it.

Smack in the middle of Christmas crafting, I randomly made this. Vintage paper doll, a book of ghost stories yellowed with age…
I was thrilled to send it to my lovely doppelganger Sarah, along with my wishes of holiday cheer, of course.
And if you feel like hearing a nice, mildly baffling song about a nurse, here’s a great cover of the Failure song “The Nurse Who Loved Me.”

Just a few snapshots of odds and ends…
I dug out the holiday lollipops Louisa gave me last year, to find that they had been exposed to too much heat and had melted slightly. This only adds to their greatness.
Santa candle got it too (check out that leg)…

If you’re curious about how Hubert Cumberdale is doing (which you probably are not), he’s enjoying the festivities in his new residence:

And last but not least, we have our nativity scene, SheWalksSoftly style:

I’m digging the sculptures on The Runny Bunny’s Etsy site.

Made to order from slip cast molds, these customizable chimeras are sure to catch the eye of your visitors (and most likely evoke a slightly bewildered expression).

Ever since I posted about the Victorian TV Heads, I’ve had the odd urge to cobble together mismatched creatures. Unfortunately, my favorite supply source for vintage tchotchkes to use for such purposes just shut down with very little advanced notice (RIP, Northern Thrift).

I’ve posted about needle felted anatomy and eye creatures before. Here are a few favorites from The Felted Chicken, who has some fantastic sea creatures.
Puffer fish!

And this angler fish actually lights up! She really goes the extra mile here.

There are also plenty of non-sea creatures and other adorable things on her Etsy and Flickr pages.

I have a new embroidery hero: Aubrey Longley-Cook.
Look at these! Absolutely amazing…

His subject matter is truly unique.

And the detail is astounding. How many people do you know who can embroider an entire brass band on a piece of found fabric?

You can see more on his blog and Etsy site.
Found here.

Yep, Halloween is over, but wonderful photos are still getting posted. Pumpkinrot has some dynamite images of handmade decorations.

There are more new ones on the blog and you can see archives on the official website.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.
There was some awesome teamwork on this guy:

Company for horror movies:

My day was low key and filled with treats (like this Boo Berry cake):

The cereal texture was actually a bit chewy, which I didn’t expect, but they were quite good.

Another highlight of the day was seeing these two chocolate moose in a Vermont candy store. Without antlers or accessories, this fellow weighs close to ten pounds more than I do:

And his lady friend…

Um…“Open Cuts, $12?” Not a Halloween special, I fear.

It seems like most people are thankfully relaxing now that Halloween has passed, but I don’t quite feel done with the whole season yet. I’d like to stretch it out a few more weeks.

Yet another creative jack-o-lantern idea! This one was posted on BB Blog:

I love how they almost appear to be made of shiny black vinyl.
