That was the wonderfully unconventional exclamation I heard yesterday, which prompted me to dig out this link.
When I ordered my lovely Ice Cream Socks I wish I stumbled upon these Ninja Socks.
These are definitely going in my shopping cart for my next order from Sock it to Me.
Multimedia designer Nagi Noda teamed up with my favorite artist Mark Ryden this past year to create the clothing line Broken Label.
To be honest, I’m quite jealous of the opportunity to design apparel with Ryden’s art! If I had a license to use his work, loved ones would have to pry me off my sewing machine or I’d never eat, sleep or leave the house.
Noda herself is quite versatile and talented (her Hair Hats were a bit hit on the blogosphere months ago).

I can’t help it. These socks put me in a good mood. They are exactly the kind of thing that I occasionally like to have peering out from my otherwise dark, muted-color wardrobe.
For some strange reason, they seem even more appealing in the winter.

Occasionally I find myself marveling at sculpture that defies the natural purpose of the subject; food that can’t be eaten, clothing that can’t be worn…I enjoy the momentary re-contextualization of the familiar.
Li Xiaofeng creates apparel from traditional Chinese ceramics.
Sure to be a hit as costume parties.

I had a sneak peak of the NY Chocolate Show a few years back…it was almost too much joy for one human being to handle.
Part of this festival involves a chocolate fashion show, displaying various sartorial confections (I hope they are eaten afterward!). You can view a bit about the process of here:
One of the models actually fainted before the show and shattered her costume. A chocolate show is arguably not the best place for emaciated, sugar-deprived fashion elite. I’d enjoy the irony, if the whole thing weren’t so tragic.

I’ve explored an exorbitant amount of corsetry over the years. Dollflesh Clothing makes one of the most clever corset designs I’ve seen.
I love this anatomical “x-ray” concept; the window into the body, framed in delicate Victorian trimmings.
She also uses other images in this pattern.
Unfortunately, the website is on a bit of a hiatus. I can’t wait to see more of Louise Black’s creations.
