  • Bubble Eye Goldfish

    November 24th, 2009

I’m pretty fascinated with the Bubble Eye Goldfish.

Anything with massive “eye bladders” has my attention. In a cursory search, I couldn’t even find an adaptive explanation for these little sacks (they are easily punctured, but will heal and re-inflate). The eye bladders even create visual obstructions and get in the fish’s way quite often.

It’s like he has giant kidneys on his face…I love it…

This one is begging for a dramatic caption…

They are just so clumsy and adorably expressive. I co-owned one of these years ago, who was named “Champ.”

  • Almost Exam Time…

    November 22nd, 2009

In the morning I have an exam that will enable me to begin practicing integrative mind-body healing therapy…reviewing my material…be back tomorrow!

  • Jim Kazanjian

    November 21st, 2009

I can’t find too much information about Jim Kazanjian, but he produces some breathtaking black and white photography.

These scenes are surreal, apocalyptic, yet somehow mysteriously beautiful.

Impossible landscapes…tranquility in the midst of nightmares (and vice versa)…

I found myself lingering on each image for a while, drinking in the detail.

  • Never Give a Germ a Break

    November 20th, 2009

Hearing the coughs and sneezes of others during my errands today reminded me of this vintage gem.

Stay healthy this winter, folks. Avoid people with insane projectile rocket coughs.

  • Kate Daly

    November 20th, 2009

Kate Daly seems to have a little window into my brain.

Her paintings often contain expressions of the “heart .v. mind” theme.

Bones…myth…visions…looking at these makes me craft stories in my head…

I find her work darkly enchanting. See more on her blog.

  • Dinosaur Hatching Egg Ornament

    November 19th, 2009

Although I’m reluctant to start Christmas posts already, but I love this ornament. It’s a refreshing change from the standard Santa Claus and angels.

  • Coping With Beauty

    November 17th, 2009

I can’t believe this book is only 22 years old.

I love how the title equates females routines with great tragedy and struggle, as if you would find this right next to a Coping With Death and Dying in a book store.

Now I know where to go for all of my tips on “no-show smoothness” in undergarments. You can see a scan of the underwear page here.

  • Human Motion Sculptures

    November 17th, 2009

Peter Jansen has an intriguing collection of sculptures that depict the trajectory of various human motions.

Don’t they make you feel like you’re in The Matrix?

Some of them are available in numerous materials.

    See the collection here.

I’ve been using other methods to respond to comments, but I’d like to start making direct replies on the site.
