Why does Dinosaur Ballet make me so happy whenever I watch it? I just rediscovered this video after many months…

Many real-life things to do in the next two days. Be back Thursday! In the meantime, enjoy this fantastic explanation of the brain:

I’ve been meaning to post about Axe Cop for weeks now. This comic is the fantastic result of a 29 year old artist illustrating a story told by his five year old brother.
I sat down one day and read each panel until I had completed the whole series thus far…what an incredible experience. I was laughing out loud, completely immersed in the pure absurdity of childhood imagination. I remembered what it was like to make up those stories as a young child, when nothing was off limits. The warm nostalgia was such a pleasant bonus surprise.
It is impossible to choose panels or captions that adequately express the awesomeness of Axe Cop. You just have to witness the fabulous jumping connections and surreality of the young mind.
You’ll see quotes like:
Bad Santa hurt people’s ears by playing his guitar and the Evil Flying Book bit people in the head.
Nobody lives on the moon. They would die. They live inside it. Right in the middle. Like Earth, it has grass, water, rivers and all animals except circus animals.
Fire Slicer’s magic move was called Fire Dumptruck, which involved scooping bad guys into a truck full of fire.
So they drove their mutant Bug Truck to the beach. After exploding the Mutant Bug Truck, Fire Slicer forced a ninja mechanic to fix the truck, then stabbed him in the brain with his fire sword and took it.
And panels like this…For more fun, there is a whole Ask Axe Cop section, featuring questions from readers.
This may be my favorite comic of all time.

Three cheers for innovative services!
This sinister looking clown is laughing all the way to the bank by hiring himself out to birthday parties to terrify youngsters.
Actor Dominic Deville had the brainwave after watching his favourite horror movies and set up his Evil Clown service in Lucerne, Switzerland.
First he contacts ‘victims’ to tell them they’re being watched.
Then he taunts them with texts, phone calls and booby trapped letters warning them that at sometime in their party he’s going to smash a cake into their face.
“It’s all in fun and if at any point the kids get scared or their parents are concerned we stop right there. But most kids absolutely love being scared senseless,” explained clown Dominic.

The Internet is flooded with Easter treats these days, and I hadn’t planned to post much to spare you the redundancy. Then again, I’ve collected awful Easter bunny photos for the past two years so I might as well put them to good use, right?
Definitely start with last year’s Evil Bunny megapost if you haven’t seen it. Some of those bunnies are not to be missed! And now for an encore…
This is like something a serial killer would wear…

And THIS child is in undeniable danger.

I always think of bunnies as cute and round-ish, so I was surprised to see the number of oddly elongated heads.
The creation of a lagomorphic Dr. Frankenstein?

This is what happens when you report for mascot duty right after getting cut off at the bar. I bet he reeks of whiskey and carrots:

I’ve already seen a nice array of online April Fools Day pranks today, but one of my all time favorites has to be the Spaghetti Tree Hoax of 1957.
The BBC current affairs program Panorama told a tale of a family in southern Switzerland harvesting spaghetti from the fictitious spaghetti tree, broadcast at a time when this Italian dish was not widely eaten in the UK and some Britons were unaware spaghetti is a pasta made from wheat flour and water. Hundreds of viewers phoned into the BBC, either to say the story was not true, or wondering about it, with some even asking how to grow their own spaghetti trees.
Here is the TV segment:
So, what food would you want to grow on trees?

My birthday cake was such a powerful presence that she became like a member of the family during the month of March. I feel it is only right to memorialize her with a formal obituary.
Deana, known to friends and loved ones as “MMMM…good,” died of consumption at 17 days old in Huntington, NY.
Deana was born in Albany, NY at X’s to O’s Vegan Bakery (expertly “Cake Wrecked” and named after an intentional misspelling of her recipient’s name). She spent her early life under the care of B.H. before moving to Long Island at the age of one day. A worldly cake, parts of Deana traveled to PA, through NJ and back to NY.
She was known for her chocolately, peanut-buttery goodness, rich moist texture, sublime frosting, and for weighing nearly half as much as Dana herself. Deana had the ability to elicit copious praise and satisfied moans from all who crossed her path. Her hobbies included making people smile, filling stomachs and ruining diets.
She was a resilient treat who thrived in trains, refrigerators, counter tops, car seats and freezers with perfect elegance and not a bit of flavor lost. She also enjoyed a brief modeling stint on the X’s to O’s facebook page. Deana is survived by her loving family: D.A, B.H. and L.P.
Memorial service to take place 3/31/10…in the dishwasher.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations from X’s to O’s.
