I came across Rare Chic recently. Themed restaurants, stores and quirky folks of all types can find some fantastic wallpaper here.

My personal favorite, “Elysian Fields:”

Bats and Venus Fly Traps, blended in a lovely dark and classy color scheme!

“City Park” would make fine decor in a trendy NY cafe:

And then there are designs like “Fishnet Licorice,” great for making people step in closer to see what really comprises the geometric patterns:

Lumen Shadow Projectors

Lumen Shadow Projectors make me regret my lack of wall space.

Lumen is a series of acid-etched, stainless steel, oil lamp shadow projectors designed by Brooklyn-based artist and product inventor Adam Frank.

How beautiful these must look with all the lights out as the flame gently flickers.

Drape Tables

I love the ethereal, almost ghostly feeling of Jane Punnopatham’s hand-molded acrylic Drape Tables. Such beautiful, disembodied table cloths…

Sadly, at $1250 each, the price is prohibitive for me…but I can admire them from afar.

Walking Wall Decals

Wall decals are all the rage these days (and certainly warrant a separate “best of” post), but I’m going to focus on just two for now.

Wouldn’t these Living Dead Decals make a great Halloween decoration?

Ironically, I find the zombies far less frightening than the ones below, which engender a mild social anxiety in me. I don’t want countless people standing around (even celebrating!) on my walls as I try to peacefully exist.
Interior Design Swing

This interior design swing found on Freshome reminded me of something my wonderful parents did for me when I was a child.

They fashioned a swing for me in our kitchen doorway using a chin-up bar and an extra swing from my swing set. It seemed delightfully subversive, and therefore completely enticing (bless my poor mother for putting up with my tiny feet swinging at her as she went about her business).

Cube Lamp

Ricardo Garza Marco’s Cube Lamp creates the perfect sci-fi atmosphere.

These make me want to slip on a sleek vinyl suit and fight a bleak dystopian future (aren’t we close enough?) with the help of several vinyl-clad rebels.

I love the depth this particular lighting pattern creates.

This goes in the “inspiration” file, should I ever need to hand-create such a vibe.
