I really love something about this unlikely choice for a sofa design, by Gaetano Pesce.
This may be the closest a delicate lady like me ever gets to scaling high mountains. Look at that rocky terrain, those dangerous peaks and valleys…and perfect placement of waterfalls.
It’s definitely worth looking through the rest of Gaetano Pesce’s site. Surreal and bizarre creations abound.

What a great combination of majesty and decay. Too bad the prices are only available upon request (usually a sure indicator that it’s out of this little lady’s current budget).
I am in the process of making it look like the 80’s vomited all over my living room for a pre-30th birthday celebration tomorrow. I figured it’s a nice inner child indulgence for this milestone of adulthood.
Thematically, Philippe Boulet’s LED chairs would be appropriate (didn’t everything just seem to have a neon glow back then?).
Actually, they are kind of a Victorian-80’s fusion design. And while I’d typically be opposed to having my tiny frame illuminated by a piece of furniture, I appreciate the novelty.
Sebastian Brajkovic created a wonderful furniture series called Lathe, comprised of furniture pieces that appear to have been stretched or extruded.
“This extruding idea came from a Photoshop function where you can pick a row of pixels and extend them as long as you want,” explains Brajkovic.
It’s lovely to see classic Victorian styling and modern graphic design merged in a physical object.

I was pleased to come across these chairs on the wonderful I Love Bad Things.
Usually, I salivate over anatomical art or products like one of Pavlov’s dogs, but I can safely say that I do not wish to have these in my home. I enjoyed discovering that I am, indeed, discriminating with my anatomical furniture and housewares after all.
The Living Lounge Chair is the perfect piece of furniture for those of us who wish to add a touch of “nightmare” to a living space.
Caught in a very odd repose, I’m not entirely sure this thing wouldn’t attempt to devour those who sit on it, enveloping unsuspecting loungers with its shiny black appendages and digesting them slowly through slats of purple suede.

Ah, another concept for me and my fellow introverts (I’ve already shown you the Introvert Sweater and the maximum privacy furniture piece: Sensory Deprivation Skull. Now there’s a bench to follow suit.
I can’t help but smirk at the blatant disregard for practicality in favor of personal space.
I love the ethereal, almost ghostly feeling of Jane Punnopatham’s hand-molded acrylic Drape Tables. Such beautiful, disembodied table cloths…
Sadly, at $1250 each, the price is prohibitive for me…but I can admire them from afar.
I couldn’t help chuckling at this clever design…and hoping I never have to resort to such extreme measures.
And I thought the Introvert Sweater provided privacy!
At first glance I took this for a desk accessory of some sort. Little did I know, it’s a sensory deprivation chamber!
Worries about maintaining adequate oxygen levels aside, I’d like to spend a few minutes meditating in here. At the very least it would make an interesting conversation piece when friends and family visit, only to find a giant skull in the corner.
