ROA leaves incredible animal anatomy graffiti in cities all over the world.
His archived calendar was the only comprehensive source of work I could find. Perhaps he wishes to maintain a degree of anonymity due to the nature of his medium. He covers a whole host of subject matter, but the anatomical animals are my favorite.
The Wellcome Collection in London houses some of the finest medical curiosities on display anywhere in the world. Exhibits focus on the connections between medicine, art and culture.
Models, portraits, prosthesis, specimens, hybrids, instruments, tools and other odd relics line the display areas.

I was drawn back to Freeny’s site after Random Good Stuff posted his new Anatomical Skateboard Deck.
Sadly, if I tried to skateboard I’m sure my guts would be sprawled on the sidewalk in a much less appealing configuration.
Artists often simply go for the gore with medical imagery, but Freeny uses smooth surfaces, bright colors and a good sense of lighting. I enjoy the rather ominous sense of sterility…as if medicine is a giant mechanized entity.
Well, it is.
If I could give one suggestion, it would be to take “Visible Vinyl” (below) from a print to an actual model. I’d want one. Pretty badly.
I believe I had a Visible Woman Model Kit as a toddler, but was far too young to appreciate just how awesome it was.
They are still sold, and the model has gone surprisingly unchanged for the past 40 years.
The models are intriguing to look at, though I can imagine young children would be rather put off by them.

Here we have a furniture concept that is best seen, and not sat upon. Lisa Jones has crafted a series of Symbiosis Chairs based on the anatomical illustrations of Leonardo Da Vinci.
As a rabid fan of art pieces that embody contradiction, I can appreciate these…but can’t even imagine the mutiny my spine would stage against me if I attempted to sit in one of these chairs.

LCS just posted the anatomical art of Vicente Marti; vintage diagrams tempered with the colorful, chaotic feel of pop/street art.
Anatomical art will always have a special place in my heart…awful pun intended.

This is an exceedingly rare collection of glass eyes used for teaching at the San Francisco Eye Institute. They were brought around the Horn in 1870 from Austria. They are hand blown glass. Found on this site.
