Oren Lavie – Her Morning Elegance

Posted by proxy from Dana’s “stuff to blog” queue while she is on medical hiatus. She reads and appreciates all comments…and apologizes for not being able to respond at the moment.

Today’s post is a video Dana sent me a couple of weeks back. For those of us close to the situation, it will bring a tear. Visually very well done. Lyrically, rather pertinent to Dana’s condition, of “fighting for her life” to get back to normal.  As ever, Dana is searching, finding, and relaying whatever it is she relates to.  How does this one affect you?

Oren Lavie – Her Morning Elegance (partial lyrics/chorus):

And she fights for her life
As she puts on her coat
And she fights for her life on the train
She looks at the rain
As it pours
And she fights for her life
As she goes in a store
Where the people are pleasently strange
And counting the change
And she goes…

  1. Lovely song and possibly the best idea for a music video that I have seen in years.

This reminded me of the time when I was seriously ill and the physical discomfort meant that I spent four years more or less without sleeping. When I finally started to get better and got my first full night of sleep, I cried when I woke up, because that’s how happy it made me.
