Vanessie Art Dolls

Vanessie Art Dolls are the work of the talented Esther Verschoor.

The dolls and outfits are hand crafted from a wide variety of materials. And all real skulls are from animals who have died of natural causes (never killed for food, fur or human use).

As if the costumes weren’t brilliantly detailed enough, many of the dolls are actually sporting lacy underwear and stockings beneath!

Some figures are placed within sculptures or scenes…

Fans of interesting taxidermy and Gothic/Victorian fashion will love these pieces.

There are so many lovely things to look at in the Vanessie galleries. Have a look!

  1. I’ve just realised how weird eyelashes on skulls really looks, and I can’t believe that little girl in the first one!

Also, I like how you mentioned “lacy underwear and stockings”.

And aside from that, I also like how you mentioned “lacy underwear and stockings” right above some kind of nun! Haha!

  2. I love these! This gives me a wonderful idea! I will show you upon finishing it. I now will be on the lookout for the materiels I will need at the local flea market. Saturday can’t come soon enough!

    • Oh how lucky you are to hunt for treasures every week! I really miss my favorite giant thrift/antique market…though my wallet and shelves do not miss it!

  3. Great to find this feature on my Birthday, a perfect Bday gift thank you ๐Ÿ˜‰

And yes the nun is also wearing lacy underwear and stockings.
She’s a girl and girls need to own lacy underwear and stockings, no matter if you are a nun, salesmanager, nurse or master in a darkroom (and everything in between )
    ;))
