I just spent a while digging though Ivica Stevanovic’s portfolio.
There are some nice children’s book illustrations, but I’m partial to the fantastic monsters, ghouls, ghosts and goblins in the mix.

These works are so atrociously beautiful!
I’m sure you know who this artist is, but just in case, his name is Stephen Gammell and he does artwork for Alvin Schwartz’s children’s books. I LOVE his work and I enjoy Alvin’s stories. I just thought I’d tell you about this after seeing this post! xx
Gammell is one of my ALL TIME favorites! Great call, Cassandra! They are actually re-illustrating the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark collections…with seriously plain, boring pictures. How sad!
😦 Oh goodness, I know. I read about that recently, and it was disheartening. The original artwork fits those stories, and although I can see that they could be potentially disturbing for some children, there are WAY worse things out there for children that even involve sexually explicit things. Along with the violent gaming for little kids, etc. Now THOSE should be re-done. Not this! (Sorry for the mini-rant, but it fluffs my feathers when people do such idiotic corrections.)
