These were slightly before my time so I didn’t own them as a child, but in the 1970’s DC and Marvel released the culinary secrets of their famed superheroes.
Here are some bits and pieces of them, in no particular order.
Did anyone have these? I wasn’t able to find too many scans or decent sized images. I would absolutely LOVE to see the rest of these books so I can take ALL of my food recommendations from superheroes.

OMG, I love these too much. Must find out more must find must know.
They are available from collector’s sites for a very high cost, I think. I wish they were still in print.
I knew these looked familiar! ComicsAlliance did a write-up not long ago – http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/05/24/marvel-comics-cookebook/
Cool! I hadn’t seen that post (obviously, because those pictures are bigger and better quality than the ones I found). Thanks!
superhero cookbooks!? that’s great! they’d look great beside my dragon lance recipe books (and become just as well used) = )
Dragonlance recipe book? Whoa! That’s amazing!
French toast, burgers, and cookies? “Super healthy” indeed!
I had the same thought! It reminds me of how things like ice cream and pudding have health claims on them these days: “High in calcium!”
I wonder what kind of recipes would be in the villains version. I have a feeling it’d be deadly. And the only healthy thing that would be in that book, would be from Poison Ivy(which even her stuff might kill you, too).
This is absolutely amazing. I love old campy comics like this.
I would say cakes would be involved somewhere ๐
