Gallery 1988 just featured an absolutely massive collection of TV themed artwork entitled Idiot Box, bound to strike a nostalgic chord with those of us who grew up with popular programs in the 80’s and 90’s. A few of my favorites:
“Marlon Fraggle” by Matt Dangler:

“Cherie’s Fridge” by Gideon Boomer (Wow…does anyone else get this reference?!):

“Uncle” by Doktor A:

“What the Smurf Are You Smurfin At?!!” by Joey D:

See the rest here.

Oh my, yes….I get the Cherie/fridge reference and not just because I was a superfan of Punky Brewster…I think that episode scared the living crap out of every kid born in the 80’s!
holy crap i didn’t remember until i saw the last comment but of course! I totally had a little boy crush on Punky Brewster! yea that was a messed up episode, haha. oh man, i was not prepared for the extensive awesomeness of clicking that link! zombie urkle? 8 bit saved by the bell school shooting video game? not to mention all the lovely Twin Peaks homages! just …wow!
That was one of the more memorable Punky moments….in addition to her chest pumping, and Cherie’s relative swallowing some draino or something (that one was a warning against illiteracy).
