Ikea Bed Bug

Oh, bless that Ikea…every now and then they come out with the most bizarre plush creatures ever mass produced. I wish I had picked up their “roadkill” cushions that surfaced a few years ago. Here’s one example:

I’m calling this next one a Bed Bug because my Entomology skills are somewhat lacking, and I can’t place exactly what it’s supposed to be (feel free to enlighten me).

Looks like you can feed it and zip its mouth shut! Isn’t that marvelous? I wonder what the target marketing demographic for these products would be. Children? Oddity bloggers?

Ren and Stimpy fans will appreciate this one. Rare Device has developed a plaster log intended for table decor.

A little log is cast in plaster and ready to be the pride of your desk, dresser or the perfect gift for a friend.

Excluding myself, I can think of very few people who would find this somewhat cumbersome decorative desk accessory a “perfect gift.”

They need to take a lesson from the masters of marketing a dead chunk of tree (seriously, watch and remind yourself how great this was):

There is a fantastic post over at Colour Lovers showcasing a series of kaleidoscope photographs.

I’ve always been fascinated by kaleidoscopes; the ordered reflection and rotational symmetry, creating stunning ephemeral images. Each time the pieces click into place, something unique yet utterly transitory appears before your eyes.

When I ordered my lovely Ice Cream Socks I wish I stumbled upon these Ninja Socks.

Another finding from a Russian art site whose origin is a mystery to me. I was really happy when an anonymous commenter knew the origins of Blood Bear, so maybe someone knows where this comes from:
