This post is dedicated to my lovely college roommate Christina, who was simultaneously as entertained and irritated by severe grammatical butchering as I was. I never thought the liberty people take with quotation marks could make me laugh out loud…until this blog came about.

Thank you, Dana! That website “made my day.” I actually have developed a bit of a reputation for the overuse of air quotes, but I like to think I’m being ironic. Because we are so above using quotation marks for “emphasis.”
This blog reminded me heavily of my friend Jeff Barg. He works for the newspaper Philadelphia Weekly, and writes articles as a character named “The Angry Grammarian.” Hmm… I think those quotes were called for. I’m guessing if they weren’t, I’ll hear about it.
