Although most of these have been circulated online quite a bit by now, I’d like to give credit to the best geeky Christmas trees I’ve seen this year.
Recycled Gadget Tree

Apparently this one was created by a librarian using old computer parts the library was going to discard.
Recycled Gadget Tree #2

I love to speculate about the technological wonderland that would have so many spare/disposable parts for Christmas tree use.
Dalek Tree

I *love* the use of the laundry basket and other household objects! The color scheme is also pretty spectacular.
Knit Christmas Tree

Massive knitting endeavors like this never cease to amaze me.
Book Shelf Tree

A bit minimalist for my taste, but it gets points for design and use of one of my very favorite things.
Charlie Brown Tree

Not exactly geeky, but oh-so endearing. This tree needs me.

I LOVE the Charlie Brown tree! My brother watched it the other day, and I was thinking of going and getting one like it…alas, we can’t have another tree right now.
The book tree is amazing as well. I would totally do that! No ornaments, no messy tree…just books!
We sell that tree at FYE. If you wait a few weeks you might be able to pick one up on sale. I’m the kind of person that would leave it up all winter, maybe minus the bulb.
That Dalek tree just made me shriek “ex-ter-min-ate” at my boyfriend. It wasn’t very festive, but it was fun!
oohohoho… those Recycled Gadget trees are so my cup of tea. I love when computer and electronic parts are displayed in any form of art. I need to meet that librarian/ artist.
And the minimalist book tree is quite a clever concept. If only I were a minimalist, I could have that in my home for the holidays instead of a messy pine.
The Dalek tree is the real WTF. lol. It has a very Rosie-the-Robot quality to it. I wonder if it can plunge toilets and roller paint walls with both arms at the same time.
Michele – thanks for the tip on where I can pick up my Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I think every misfit should have one. Good Grief!
hi, my name is Vicky. I created the “gadget tree” for our Holiday Open House at the Fort Smith Public Library.
Wow…does the bookshelf tree still count as art if it’s an accident? My mother has a bookshelf that looks almost exactly like that.
Have you seen the beer bottle tree: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jp8jIPaX9BM
